One Hand Knot

Pictures and video to be added later.  For now, here is a short explanation.  .

General Information:
  • Your rope has a dark piece of tape on one end and a light piece of tape on the other end.
  • Scissors fingers.  Think of these fingers acting like a pair of scissors and when they close, they are catching and holding onto the end of the rope.  The goal is to catch the rope near the end.

One Hand Knot
  • One hand. All actions are performed with the same hand.

  • With your hand facing up so that your palm is facing the center of your body and your thumb is pointed towards you, drape rope between your thumb and pointer finger so that:
    • The piece of rope with the dark end drapes off of the back of your hand.
    • The piece of rope with the light end drapes off the front (palm) of your hand.
    • The rope drapes over your hand so that the light end of the rope is slightly shorter than the dark end.
  • Move your pinky down and curl it towards your palm so that it's in between the two pieces of rope.
  • Use your pinky to push/fling the piece of rope (light end), the piece of rope with the dark end.  When the light end has wrapped around the piece of rope with the dark end, bring your hand up to get momentum to make the light end of the rope travel up where you catch it with your scissors fingers.
  • While holding onto the light end of the rope in your scissor fingers, drop your hand down and let the rest of the rope fall off of your hand.
