Fastest Knot

Pictures and video to be added later.  For now, here is a short explanation.

General Information:
  • Your rope has a dark piece of tape on one end and a light piece of tape on the other end.
  • Scissors fingers.  Think of these fingers acting like a pair of scissors and when they close, they are catching and holding onto the end of the rope.  The goal is to catch the rope near the end.

Fastest Knot (swing up)

This is a one-handed knot trick, so all actions are performed with the same hand.
  • With your palm facing up, drape the rope over your palm so that the piece of rope with the:
    • Light end is between your pinky and ring fingers.
    • Dark end is between your thumb and pointer finger.  This side of the rope should be longer.
  • Turn your hand over so your hand faces the floor.
  • Swing your hand up and catch the dark end with scissor fingers.

  • While holding onto the dark end of the rope in your scissor fingers, drop your hand down and let the and let the rest of the rope fall off of your hand.

Fastest Knot (grab)

If you make the piece of rope with the dark end shorter:
  • When you turn over your hand so your hand faces the floor, you should be able to grab the dark end with your scissors fingers.

  • Drop your hand down and the let the rest of the rope fall off of your hand with still gripping the dark end in your scissors fingers.
